Ingredients
  

  • 4 potatoes peeled and chopped like French fries
  • 4 tablespoons cornflour
  • Oil for frying
  • For the sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum bell pepper
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Less than 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions
 

  • Preparing the Potatoes:
  • Peel and chop the potatoes into French fry-like pieces.
  • Coat the potato pieces evenly with cornflour.

  • If the mixture appears dry, add a teaspoon of water and coat the potatoes thoroughly.
  • Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  • Test the oil temperature by adding a potato slice; it should sizzle and fry quickly.
  • Fry the potatoes in batches on high heat until they are light brown and crispy.

  • Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  • Making the Sauce:
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
  • Add sesame seeds and sauté until they start to crackle.
  • Add finely chopped capsicum and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

  • Stir in green chillies, tomato sauce, red chilli sauce, soy sauce, salt, and vinegar. Mix well.
  • Turn off the heat and add honey. Stir until everything is well combined.
  • Combine Everything:
  • Add the fried potatoes to the sauce mixture in the pan.
  • Stir gently until the potatoes are well coated with the sauce.
  • Garnish and Serve:
  • Transfer the honey chilli potatoes to a plate.
  • Garnish with chopped green coriander(cilantro) and sesame seeds.
