Honey Chilli Potatoes

Honey Chilli Potatoes

Ingredients
- 4 potatoes peeled and chopped like French fries
- 4 tablespoons cornflour
- Oil for frying
- For the sauce:
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum bell pepper
- 2 green chillies finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon red chilli sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- Less than 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Preparing the Potatoes:
- Peel and chop the potatoes into French fry-like pieces.
- Coat the potato pieces evenly with cornflour.
- If the mixture appears dry, add a teaspoon of water and coat the potatoes thoroughly.
- Heat oil in a pan for frying.
- Test the oil temperature by adding a potato slice; it should sizzle and fry quickly.
- Fry the potatoes in batches on high heat until they are light brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels.
- Making the Sauce:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
- Add sesame seeds and sauté until they start to crackle.
- Add finely chopped capsicum and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in green chillies, tomato sauce, red chilli sauce, soy sauce, salt, and vinegar. Mix well.
- Turn off the heat and add honey. Stir until everything is well combined.
- Combine Everything:
- Add the fried potatoes to the sauce mixture in the pan.
- Stir gently until the potatoes are well coated with the sauce.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Transfer the honey chilli potatoes to a plate.
- Garnish with chopped green coriander(cilantro) and sesame seeds.
